Leaders & Adult Helpers Wanted

Sea Scouts at Maribyrnong River, Ascot Vale

The 15th Essendon Sea Scouts are looking for adult leaders to help out with our growing program.  We have a fantastic facility on the Maribyrnong river.

Girls and boys of the following age groups meet as follows:

  • Joeys,          5-7, Thursday evenings from 5:45 to 6:45pm
  • Cubs,          8-11, Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30pm
  • Scouts,       11-14, Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00pm
  • Venturers,  15-17, currently meeting at another venue
  • Rovers,       18-25, currently meeting at another venue

In addition to the weekly meetings during school term time, Cubs and Scouts go on outings.  Activities include hiking, camping, canoeing, sailing, bicycling, bowling, games nights, etc.

Not all adult leaders need to have the traditional scouting or sailing skills. The main requirement is that you enjoy being around kids and eager to grow with the group. There are leadership roles open for adults who want to plan, operate and grow the program, and who are willing to undertake the requisite training. There are also places for adults who just want to get involved on a part time or casual basis.

Scouts Australia offers additional training at many levels for adult leaders. All training expenses are covered by the Group.
