Fees

2024-2025

Your Scout Group fee is made up of a portion that is paid to Scouts Australia (Victoria Branch) for registration and insurances, a District levy and a Group levy.
The Group levy contributes to the maintenance of our equipment, hall and boats.
It also pays utilities, registrations, program supplies and leader training.

Fundraising throughout the year helps to reduce the annual fees – please ensure you contribute to fundraising activities so that others are not carrying your load.

The Membership Fee does not include camping fees and some activity fees. Camping fees are usually dependant on the duration of the camp(2-4 days); where the camp is; the number of members attending. These are typically paid in cash to the Leader and vary from $40 – $80 and include food.

There are other camps and events that are run by Scouts Victoria or a Region; they will set their own fees for those camps.

Pro-Rata Fee Structure

Leaders

As enticement and recognition of the effort of being a leader, the Scout Group pays all leader’s membership fees, and subsidises the fees for their children too.

What a great way to get a reduction of fees for your children attending the Scout Group.

Get Active Vouchers

From time to time there are Government Get Active vouchers for $200 available. Scouts Victoria is an eligible organisation. There are two options for payment:

  1. pay our invoice in full and request the payment go to you, or
  2. pay our invoice less $200 and request the payment go to the organisation.

In case #2, Scouts Victoria will pass the $200 to us and we can attribute it to your invoice. Please let us know if you do this.

Option #1 is preferred.

Venturer Scout Members

Venturers are typically in District based units, however they are still registered via their home Group.

They use different hall and so the unit will collect a fee ($80) towards the cost of operating the hall they use. The fee we collect is therefore reduced, and covers everything else, including the Scouts Victoria fee and District levy.

The annual Venturer fee is $395
^ Multiple Child discount and Subsidy for ^^ Child, of Leader also applies here.

Rover Scout Members

Rovers are typically in District based units, however they are still registered via their home Group.

Therefore the Scouts Victoria fee and District levy are collected via the Group.  The unit is responsible for setting and collecting any other fees.

The annual Rover fee is $283.
Subsidy for ^^ Child, of Leader also applies here.
